PRACTICE AREAS:
Mr. Bridgeman has focused his practice primarily in commercial litigation, antitrust matters, ERISA, Multi-Employer Pension Plan Amendments Act matters, and before the Interstate Commerce Commission, Civil Aeronautics Board and Federal Aviation Administration in matters relating to regulation of ground and air transportation.  He advises and assists U.S. and foreign airline and other clients in the purchase, sale and lease of aircraft; advises a foreign aerospace company with respect to U.S. regulation of that field by private persons; and advises foreign clients on the international aspects of air transport regulation, including the status, significance and effect of multi-lateral and bilateral aviation agreements, and the requirements imposed by other countries, ICAO, and the European Community.  He assisted a foreign air carrier of oversized cargo selected by the Chinese government in obtaining U.S. authority and coordination with the U.S. Navy to airlift a U.S. reconnaissance aircraft grounded in Hainan Island, China to Marietta, Georgia. 

 

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
He was formerly the Air Carrier Editor and Antitrust Editor of the Association of Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy.  He is the author of articles on antitrust law and the regulated industries in The ICC Practitioners Journal and The Transportation Law Journal; and a contributor to “Transportation Regulation” by Sweeney, McCarthy, Kalish & Cutler (NAASTRAC, Washington, DC, 1986).  He was a member of the D.C. Circuit Judicial Conference Committee on Proposed Rules of Evidence for U.S. District Courts (1969-70); Special Deputy Attorney, State of Alabama for litigation in U.S. courts relating to nuclear waste disposal issues (1994-2001); and a member of the ABA Forum on Air and Space Law.  He was formerly with the Office of the General Counsel, U.S. Civil Aeronautics Board; and was a Harry A. Bigelow Teaching Fellow, The Law School, The University of Chicago.
